
Fans React to Jones’ SMU Visit

As if the weak showing in the Sugar Bowl wasn't painful enough, University of Hawaii football fans are now mulling over the possible loss of head coach June Jones.
The Dallas Morning News reports Jones will meet with officials from Southern Methodist University in Dallas over the weekend about the school’s head coaching vacancy.
According to two SMU sources quoted by the newspaper Jones will be offered between $1.7 million and $2 million per year. Jones current contract with UH pays him $800,000 a year but expires at the end of June.
Warrior fans who lined up in Waikiki Friday night for autographs from some of their favorite UH players say if Jones leaves for the mainland the university only has itself to blame.
