This whole never ending SMU coaching search better damn well be worth it. I'm not very excited by June Jones or most of the other names so far and I'm sick of losing recruits because of this. Can the 20 year nightmare please end?

If as I expect, JJ is hired, the nightmare is just about over. SO has pulled off one of the best coaching hires in quite awhile, for any school. No matter how it turns out, HE has been a class act and SMU will be lucky to retain him. I'm sure there are schools out there that wish they had not signed contracts with their present coaches because they would have loved to get JJ. Who knows where SMU will land in 5 yr.s. Last yr.s record does not indicate how good of a team JJ is getting. With his coaching SMU may well pull off a conference championship next year. They may find themselves in the Big 14, PAC 12-14, or a new conference from CUSA, Mtn West, WAC that could be a new BCS conference. Maybe the BCS will implode on itself, as most everyone wants to see. But with JJ, SMU should be back in the mix. The future is bright. RN was right, SMU is a diamond in the rough. Get ready to expand Ford stadium because most of the BCS conferences require a certain level of seating. And with SMU winning those seats will be filled.
