Where is the PC announcement? Doesnt' there need to be some lead time for the reporters and attendees?

Don't worry...Hawaii radio guy just got a personal email from Jones thanking him for all of this efforts for the past nine years...We got him...

PC announcement may or may not be public. Usually they are issued to a select media list via email/fax. Best bet is call the AD office.

Jones takes SMU job

Hawaii football coach June Jones told the Star-Bulletin this morning he is leaving his job at UH to become coach at SMU.

"Well it was a hard, hard decision," Jones said in a phone interview this morning. "It was very emotional for me, but it's a very good opportunity and I have to do what's right for my family."

Jones will be paid $2 million per year for five years by SMU.

It will be officially announced at a news conference in Dallas today.

UH assistants Greg McMackin, Dan Morrison and Wes Suan will be joining Jones on the Mustangs staff.
