Oh you'll get help from above... in the form of football's flying through the air at a record pace! Seriously, Jones is a great man, a great football mind, a great motivator and a great leader.

I know most of you wouldn't be interested in the book that article mentions about Hawaii's football team, but it is a great book. The day mine arrived I set it aside with plans to read it once the season was over. About an hour later I picked it up and didn't put it down until I was finished. It's that good.

There is a great chapter on June and Jeff George and what still gets me about their sideline argument... if any of you remember it, it was just two guys jawing at each other and really not in a vile way.

George was labeled a coach killer from that point on. Yet you see in games every Sunday, and some Saturday's too, situations 10 times worse and the player is never vilified the way George was.

It's funny... I feel kind of like a dad watching over his kids at Christmas... I know what's wrapped up in the shiny paper and bows... and I just know you guys are going to love opening the gifts! You think you know... but you don't... your team is going to reach previously unimagined heights. And soon, too!

Between what UH fans like yourself have been saying about him, and the articles like this one I keep reading, I really can't wait for the next 7+ months to go by. I actually can't wait for the spring game!

It really is a good book. It appears to me that JJ is following the blueprint described in that book as he starts the SMU rebuilding...down to bringing in several QBs first for his recruiting class.

So you really think it's possible that he'll sign FOUR quarterbacks, as someone speculated?

It is possible, but it would be best if he signed just 2 or 3 I think. Early in his UH tenure JJ had *9* QBs on the roster! However, APR rules and scholarship needs for defense really cut that down lately--UH had 3 scholarship QBs available last season.

Ya know, even though i'm thrilled to have the story today......I've got to admit, after the DMN advertised this story on the front of the sports section on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, I thought we were going to get a much bigger story, than the one that took up less than a half page, on page 3.

Well, I'm sure disecting the Cowboys-Giants part 7 and a nothing NBA game (did the Mavericks play?) would sure gave their editors fits. Oh, and don't forget the stock show over in Fort Worth.
