I actually got two.
Both emails said he would respond to all of my points when he had more time, but I have not heard a word since then.
The first one he accused me of not being a college graduate because he thought I believed that SMU should not be subject to public criticism--which I never said. I simply explained that I thought he had made a poor choice of venue which makes the school look bad and that was probably not helpful to his cause or his job security.
Granted, I was not very nice in my first email, and I not only suggested that he wander over to Cox and sit in on some economics lectures, but I also suggested that he get his PhD and actually get qualified to teach at a university if he wanted to earn the salary he thought he deserved.
After I replied (with some more civility) and explained that I have not just one, but two degrees from SMU, an M.D., and a masters from Johns Hopkins, he backed off a bit and told me some of my points have merit and that he would re-read my initial email more closely.
