LUBBOCK – Texas Tech has added Eastern Washington to its 2008 football schedule as a replacement for Tulsa in the Red Raiders’ season opener Aug. 30 at Jones AT&T Stadium.
Tulsa left the Red Raiders little time to find a replacement for their season opener when the school informed Tech in mid-January that it was exercising a $150,000 buyout clause to terminate the contract of a two-game series over the next two seasons. Tulsa replaced Tech on its schedule with a game against Arkansas on Nov. 1.
“I think it’s bad business. They dropped us with seven months to go, which I don’t think’s good,â€

Even if Tech would go undefeated the two 1-AA teams will hurt their chances to play for a national title. Tech is returning most of their team from last year so they should be tough to beat next season. It could be the year they finally contend for a Big 12 title.

Nothing to worry about because Tech will not go undefeated next year. They will probably drop 2 of the following 3: Texas in Lubbock, Oklahoma in Norman, Kansas in Lawrence.

they always lose atleast 3-5 per year. expect a big year from Harrell. his last chance to get them to the bigxii championship game.

The article left out another Leach comment. It was along the lines of "Well, they don't have to worry about us backing out of the game on them, especially with only nine months to go. We're not that type of team."

You can't blame Tech for booking a D-1 AA school. Almost EVERY D-1 school has its schedule full.

But you can blame Tulsa for flaking out. I guess it really shows the true class of that institution.
And they were pissed at Rice for being classless.....Pot, Kettle calling.

PB backed out of playing Oklahoma State one year. Of course he added Texas A$M and we got blasted by them. Did that show PB's true class? (It definitely showed his lack of BRAINS!)

How much advance notice did PB give OSU? Was it more than 7 months and with enough time for the Cowboys to schedule another Div. 1-A school? I really can't remember.

Maybe it was after Les Miles showed very little class in continuing to throw the ball deep to Rashaun Woods after they were up by like 40 in the 4th quarter.
