TCU gets Mountain West invite; decision could come Friday

The Mountain West Conference issued an invitation Wednesday to TCU, setting the stage for the school to announce Friday it will leave Conference USA.

TCU athletic director Eric Hyman said through media relations spokesman Steve Fink that he has received the invitation from the Mountain West. Hyman would have no further comment Wednesday, Fink said.

TCU's athletics committee will meet Thursday to discuss its conference membership. The invitation is expected to be accepted by TCU's board of trustees at a meeting Friday.
