I have nothing against the Cotton Bowl. I loved going to games there as a kid. But the Cotton Bowl can't compete with the Boulevard and Ford Stadium. And the Cotton Bowl can't compete with Texas Stadium and the new Cowboys stadium.
As sad as it may be, the Cotton Bowl is going the way of the steam locomotive. Wonderful memories but pass up by better, newer technology.
Isn't the locomotive museum moving (moved) to Frisco. ![]() Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
ETSU vs another division 2 team has the potential to draw as much
as praire view vs grambling????? Reaching for the stars. The current PV/Grambling game is a huge event. Grambling has a rich football history. Until reading this post I had no idea East Texas State even had a football team.
I talked to a guy I know that is a TAMU-Commerce grad...in fact, the only one I've ever known.
He said a few years back they were winning conference titles almost every year in front of a home crowd of 1500-2000 people, tops. The Cotton Bowl isn't going to ever see 18,000 for this game...not even close. At least it makes the SMU-Tulsa matchup seem more impressive in comparison to TX-OU...
