Just completed an ESPN ballot for the greatest college football athlete of all time.

The problem with surveys such as these is that they strongly tilt towards contemporaries.

It is therefore rather remarkable that Doak Walker is currently 8th, behind only Jim Thorpe among players pre-1960’s. That is quite a testament to the man, especially when you also factor in our low alumni (i.e. voting) base,

So did I. The Great Doak Walker has slipped too No. 12.

Obviously a lot of Huskers voting — Tommie Frasier is listed as the No. 1 player FACE OF THE GAME and Tom Osborne No. 1 coach.

They both were great, but No. 1? Nope.

I'm sure the husker fan boards are trying to make it a competition amongst themselves. Vote early. Vote often.

Ditto. Poor Froggies...Sammy Baugh in last place. But I voted for him, too.

Frasier was a beast at Nebraska. him single handedly taking on the UF defense in the orange bowl was amazing.

Am I the only one who opened this thread thinking I would see discussion about a sandwich of some sort?
