JJ did use Reagan Mauia in 2006 as a TE in a game against a BCS team with a DE (I think his last name was Spencer) who had a ton of sacks coming into the game...Reagan and Tala combined to just punish the DE and he was no factor at all in the game.

Hawaii used a TE in the Sugar Bowl in one series...but it didn't slow the Georgia pass rush so they abandoned it.

Yes, that was Anthony Spencer from Purdue who had 10.5 sacks in 2006. He was drafted by the Cowboys and I know that there are a ton of Cowboy fans here so I didn't want to mention too much about how Spencer was crushed by Mauia in that game.
