I assume you've read The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli.

the prince was a satire, common misconception, and i bet you Dodds is well liked at UT considering he has been there for decades...i think its a philosophical problem that people have, once Orsini has everyone he wants, or the right people, there will be no more grumbling

From the other thread, this is my response,

I'm still searching for the utopian work environment where there are no personality or procedural issues between employees and bosses, bosses and bosses and employees and employees.

I have yet to find it.

Given the complacency culture that was in there prior to his arrival, he may have done some good by cleaning out the dead weight. For those who stayed, no one is making them stay. But if they choose to, then they are going to make the best out of it.

The bottom line is that they want to do their part to make our athletic department as strong as possible, then I would suggest they do their part.
But if they are that unhappy, do something about it.

... most of the people who don't like him have either left or been fired already...he's kind of a tyrant

Well I talked with Terry Hemme about Steve and he sure didn't want to see him go :!: As far as Steve's staying goes, it would be tough to become a legend at Notre Dame, which already has more than its share of legends. While SMU also has its legends, it has been down for so long that he has a much better chance of becoming a "Legend" here than he ever would there. He can own this school and its alumni just like Rockne did for years to come :!:
