The Mustangs will face 3 QBs on this list this season - Chase Clement (Rice), Graham Harrell (Texas Tech) and Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada (Navy).

from the DMN College Sports blog:

The 2008 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List was released Thursday by the Davey O'Brien Foundation and its National Selection Committee. Texas' Colt McCoy, Texas Tech's Graham Harrell of Ennis, Oklahoma's Sam Bradford, Missouri's Chase Daniel of Southlake Carroll, Georgia's Matthew Stafford of Highland Park, New Mexico State's Chase Holbrook of Hurst L.D. Bell and Rice's Chase Clement were among the 31 who made the first cut.

The 31 Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) quarterbacks will vie for the award honoring the nation's best quarterback in 2008. Semifinalists will be announced Oct. 27 and finalists Nov. 24.

The 2008 winner will be announced during The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN on Dec. 11. The recipient will be honored Feb. 16, 2009, at the 32nd Annual O'Brien Awards Dinner at The Fort Worth Club in Fort Worth.
