Tell that to Coach Jones - he jumped down Chuck Cooperstein's throat a week or so ago when he mentioned that SMU would be running the "spread".

He probably would have been mad if the guy had called him April also.

the run and shoot is basically an option by the receiver EVERY play depending on the defense, you're hoping the qb reads the play the same way the receiver does. leach's offense is a spread offense with a lot of option/hot routes thrown in, in case you need adjustment based on the play called by the offense. both emphasize short passing game, lots of shovel passes, JJ has no TE, leach does but rarely uses one, both want to spread the field and get players the ball in isolation, Leach uses crazy wide splits...it's a spread with lots of his personal adjustments

Anyone who thinks all spread offenses are essentially the same is just ignorant and needs to watch the 2005 Lufkin vs. SLC High School 5A semifinal game.
Two "spread" offenses that look, operate and produce in completely different ways.

I can't wait for the game against Tech. the other night Leach was at a Rangers game, and he was being interviewed by the 'man in the stands' who asked about the game against SMU. Leach bumbled around and said that they were going to set single game total passing records and fewest rushing records.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

In the words of jtstang: I have no expectations of that not happening but I'll be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't.

Dude, that's way too insightful for this board.

As a Hawaii fan and also a fan of JJ.
The two things that stood out to me
about JJ run & shoot was that the QB
had to have a GREAT arm and be very
smart.
The first QB who catches on to his system the fastest
will play.
Give JJ time and let him bring in HIS QB
and watch history be made.(passing records)

Run the run and shoot,
Demyron should learn to block,
Someone play de-fense.
