JJ on Ch. 8

Postby Mustangsabu » Mon Aug 25, 2008 9:09 am

I thought it was a good interview, but I was very surprised by some of JJ's comments:

1. He has said before he is a 1-QB guy, but he said he would not play a freshman if he thought he could not hold up under the pressure;
2. He said JW was a good leader;
3. He complimented JW's work ethic.

This brings me to my next question. Has JJ actually confirmed that BLM will start at Rice, or just (and this is my understanding) that he was picked at the top QB on the team last week. I'm not saying or predicting anything, but I think it possible that JW will see some of the field, and soon. From what I have seen in practice, BLM has a lot of work to do with his short/intermediate passes.

Well, to JW's credit, short/intermediate passes are pretty much all he's thrown the last two years. And that got him/us 51 TDs.

Watch Willis trot out there at Rice and Rice be totally unprepared for it and this all be an elaborate ruse. (a cunning attempt to deceive them)

Anyone pick up on JJ's comment that he has had some confidential discussions with Steve O regarding what the program needs?

Indoor facility?
New practice pants? (i noticed thay were wearing last years in the full pad practices)
More Sweat Suits for coaches?

Yes i picked up on that and it would seem has if JJ might have Orsini in his pocket and might get out of him everything he wants. and if he doesnt, he might leave us for "better" facilities
