Is It September Yet?

Postby Stallion » Sat Aug 30, 2008 11:05 am

Gawd I hate August- I'm a very sensitive type of guy and every August I get beat over the head by the Pom-Pom boys-and it hurts my fewlings.

THIS SEASON WAS WRITTEN OFF WHEN 12 FRESHMAN WERE PLACED IN THE 2 DEEP-I bet about 15 played last nite-probably no more than about 4 have any business suiting up for a Division 1A Game as a Redshirt Sophomore much less as 18 year olds. This is not a situation where there is an emergence of great individual freshman talent. These kids have not earned anything. I'm sure that will [deleted] of a bunch of Dads, Moms, Girlfriends and uncles but there is nothing special about this freshman class. I laughed at the ridiculousness of any hope for this year when I-STALLION-had to run off a Roster before the game because I had no idea who these 30 some odd new players were by number. Not a good sign.

Get used to it. The decision has been made, The redshirts are off. Sit back for the long 3+ year rebuilding process. A very wise SMU Coach once said that for every true freshman you play extensive minutes you will lose a game. And he said that about recruiting classes with a helluva a lot of outstanding young talent. How many games on our schedule.

As for the QB-I think he played better than I expected-he did some GREAT GREAT things and then he played like a true freshman. He will struggle the entire season. Its clear I think that Willis should be QBing this team but it has never been about Mitchell it has been about my disstate for every new Coach who simply discards experienced players just to play "his guys". I detest that attitutde-a great Coach will work with talent and experience he has and utilize their talents. It concerns me that the Great June Jones can not take the 2006 CUSA Newcomer of the Year and a record setting SMU QB and make him better-the great QB Coach simply flushed one of our best talents down the drain. Doesn't say much for the Great BALLCOACH. 4th String my [deleted].
