I didn't expect us to win against Rice, but I thought we would be competitive. Our QB, who should not have been playing, made too many mistakes and our defense was atrocious.

btw, it is very clear that someone at the DMN is determined to make JJ look good because Jean-Jacques' column in today's paper was laughable. I don't give a damn what kind of system JJ is running.....Willis should be playing.
Really? If Aldrick Robinson doesn't drop that would-be 71-yarder, Mitchell goes for more than 300 yards in his debut. Not a lot of QBs can say that.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

JW is the best QB on the team for this teams shot to win games this year. BLM is the best QB on the team for the team to switch to JJ's system, a system that will win 4X the number of games over the next several years then if we dont switch. JJ is predictably chosing the later option. It ain't that tough to figure. If you dont have the stomach or football intelligence to watch a 2-3 win season that builds up to more wins later instead of a 4-5 win season that builds to the same stuff we have seen for the last 20 yrs, - then by all means skip this season and go play peeknucle or something. See ya next year.

I still don't see how BLM is a fit in JJ's system. The guys best stat in high school was his TD/Int ratio and that was exceptional, 30-something to 4, but averaging only 10 passes a game and completing less than 6? And against Rice he was lost except the the short shuttle passes, his long passes were ducks except the one to Robinson, not to mention Rice didn't pressure him at all, very few blitzes, and he had all day to throw.

Ironically, I heard on the Ticket today (Sporting News Radio) an interview with a Redskins reporter and he was asked about Brennan. The reporter said the coaching staff likes his football knowledge and willingness, but he's a long way from being a starter due to having to change his reaction and fundamentals(?), similar to what Leinart is experiencing, and this was a guy JJ groomed.

How many years since 1989 have we had the "youngest team in America"? It seemed like that was the case practically the whole time Mike Cavan and Phil Bennett were the head coaches at SMU.

Yes, they spent all Fall playing "I know more than Steve Orsini" followed by "I know more than Matt Doherty" so its about time for "I know more than June Jones". So much expertise in one place.

:P

seriously, they attribute our loss to bad schemes and call Tom Mason a failure.

give the poor guy a chance...

(although i do wonder what was going through Orsini's head at about 10PM on Friday night)

Did anyone go to a single practice this summer? Cause then you would know that JW looks LOST in the new offense. When I went he was "sacked" (since you can't hit him) at least 4 times. He took way too much time with his passes. BLM looked far more consistent and comfortable in the offense. He knew went to step up and when to get rid of it.

JW is probably a better overall QB. He has the experience and the athleticism. But in terms of best QB for this offense, Jones has it right. As painful as it is to admit, I think this is the best move.
