thats a new one for me. Never heard anything about that

it was true of the DBs on the national championship team. especially the one that ended up getting drafted by the titans. I forget his name.

I just remembered - Griffin.

I will fact check that story tonight. Not sure I buy it, but I'll find out. More importantly, though, not sure I care. And to be fair, that team also produced a Draddy Award winner, which is VERY impressive.
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

found this in dallas morning news....it doesnt back up everything i said above but acknowledges his pit bull situation. i am too tired and beaten down from Friday to dig Google for the articles that came out about three years ago but allow me to submit this as Exhibit A:

While Marcus misses his brother's big personality, he doesn't miss his brother's obsession with breeding pit bulls. When the two lived together, Michael always had pit bulls around the house.

"I'm not an animal person at all," Marcus said. "So I don't miss those dogs and how they made his car smell."

and Exhibit B:

When he played in Austin — before he became the Tennessee Titans' top draft pick in 2007 — Griffin would give the media weekly updates about his dogs...and how he enjoyed breeding them. We wrote about Griffin's hobby, one which he shared with several of his Longhorns teammates. Now the mention of pit bulls doesn't bring that infectious smile to his face as it did in previous years.

I was politely informed by a member of the Titans' media relations staff that Griffin has decided not to speak about pit bulls at this point. Turns out, he's been fielding a lot of dog-related questions lately, and the subject has become a bit of a distraction.

Not gonna say that this proves your story right or wrong. It did bring up the pit bull situation but never said he kept them in the locker room but i can come up with the conclusion he needed somewhere to put them so they wouldnt sit in his car all day while he was at practice.

I'm not sure how the thread about the player getting a DWI led to a thread about Griffin's pitbulls. Both Griffin brothers were extremely well behaved kids so I don't think his pit bull made him stray from the "good path".

I do agree the guy who got arrested is a [deleted]. Not sure if the whole story was linked, but he was rearended, not his fault, and in the process the cop gave him a DWI. He was made an example of in my opinion to make sure the players know the new police chief doesn't care who they are. Doesn't justify him drinking and getting behind the wheel, but in all fairness, I couldn't pass a field sobriety test when sober.
