Has BLM started to Panic?

Postby lwjr » Tue Sep 23, 2008 1:54 pm

Watching my first home game in person in many years I thought BLM panicked. First time I have noticed that. He look confused and out of place. Maybe it was just seeing a game live to finally realize that. Any thoughts?

Are you sure it wasn't the PF.com posters who you were watching? Some of them have been panicking for weeks now. Maybe longer.

I think he found the TCU defense difficult to work with. He seemed to hang on to the ball for a little longer than usual, and ended up on his behind a lot.

IF he can have a good game against Tulane it would be wonderful for his confidence. Not saying we win, but he needs to feel successful.

I was very impressed with the TCU defense. They were as good as advertised. Fast and physical. Of course our offense will make any defense look good. That will change, though.

TCU's defense was arguably the best defense they have had in recent memory, including the year they beat OU (and SMU turned around and beat them).

If BLM was feeling a little, well...stalked...it was justified. He will probably not see another defense that good this year. If he does, then he will already knows what it feels like to take one for the team.

There's no reason for him to panic. There are plenty more defensive linemen for him to throw to for our upcoming opponents.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Wow, someone's getting a little jaded, huh?

The people I know who have talked to him certainly give the impression he's not the panic type. He's extremely confident and bright enough to know when he doesn't play well. I hear he's pretty resilient, and will get better as the season goes along ... especially since we won't see another defense like TCU's.

Oh so you're saying he isn't pleased with his performance so far? <wipes sweat off brow> Whew! Now I feel better! Tell ya what, tell him it really helps the offense when you dont drop the f'ing shotgun snap and avoid throwing it to a 280 pound defensive tackle. If he can do that everything else is gravy.

Tulane is tops in CUSa in many defensive categories, including #1 in the country in Sacks. This will be no break for BLM.

Now later in the year there are some bad defenses to practice on. 8)
