Cole Beasley

Postby Casey » Sun Oct 12, 2008 5:42 pm

Just wanted to say how impressive he was last night. Yes, he dropped the late pass that would have tied it. But the guy showed he's a player. He ran great routes and left some of the Tulsa DBs looking around like they had no idea where he was - which they didn't.

This is a guy who's going to make a lot of plays for us, and score a lot of touchdowns.

If I'm Coach Jones, my first play Saturday is called for Mitchell to find Beasley.

I would really like to see him have another solid game next week as well, just for the young man's confidence. A solid 3rd receiver with Robinson and Sanders would be tough on oposing defenses.

I think you are spot on with Jones going to him early next game. Jones has a history of getting the ball back to his playmakers after a bad play or mistake. You hear about it often from former players and even through this year at SMU.

COLE is a great kid. Except for the drop he had a break out game. He has great speed. He will help make SMU a winner this week. Go Mustangs!

Exactly right. His top speed isn't quite Aldrick Robinson's, but he can really move. Who would win between him and Emmanuel Sanders, I don't know. But he certainly had a breakout performance. Robinson and Sanders are bona fide studs, and it's starting to look like Beasley and Wilkerson just might live up to their promise, as well.
Congratulations on a terrific game, Cole — here's to more of the same.

I was really impressed with Beasley's elusiveness. He makes a break in his routes, and has a lot of shake to him - created separation on a lot of different routes. Once he and Bo get more time together, that could be a connection that hooks up more and more.

I'm also really impressed I wasn't hung over when I got home Sunday.

I've always thought that Cole was gonna be good. I wasn't sure why he didn't get to play much after starting the Rice game. I'm just glad he finally got the ball enough to show his attletic ability. Hope he keeps it up. GO SMU!!!
