and they get some of those cupcakes midway thru conference play

Have you seen a Big XII South nonconference schedule?

Tech played:
E. Washington
Nevada
Us
UMass

TAMU played:
Ark. State (which they lost)
New Mexico
Miami
Army

Texas played:
FAU
UTEP
Rice
Arkansas

Oklahoma played:
Chattanooga
Cincinatti
Washington
TCU

Are those schedules anything to brag about? And why does it matter when you play your nonconference games?

very true. UT and OU probably had the hardest of the 6 but the one thing that should stand out is that most Big XII conference games are all played after the non conference games. mostly all SEC schools get cupcakes midway thru conference play.

there are 4 dominant teams in the sec but there are 4 dominant teams in the big xii south alone...big difference IMO

And none in the North. It's a big pillow fight up there.

I still don't understand why it matters when you play your nonconference games? I'm sure Florida would rather end their season with someone other than Florida State (nonconference opponent).

and what dominant teams are there in the big 12 north?

Its essentially 4 competitive teams in the southern division. The two others are noncompetitive.

Very similar in many ways to what the SEC has going on currently though I think this years SEC bottom feeders could be at least competitive with a team like Missouri.

My favorite thing about my playoff proposal is that it motivates teams to play BIG TIME non conference games instead of paying little schools 1 million bucks to take a beat down....

oh wait, no one wants that.
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

if there is a playoff it will only motivate ADs and coaches to schedule cupcakes even more...four easy confidence boosters before conference play

read my playoff proposal before you say something that stupid. My plan would encourage big time games.

i say a lot of stupid stuff rather i read it or not...but when the BCS first came out, thats what a lot of schools did. that whole "Margin of Victory" worked perfect when you beat up on a mid road team and win by 30+. thats why that was thrown out and strength of schedule had more say...

ill read it though :o
