and this is why we are known in many circles as "sister schools"
we can't change the fact that we are small private schools without a national following
But, they will go to a bowl, right? They have been consistently ranked? They have kicked our [deleted] of late? Sort admire the guys......long live Red McClain.
Great article and suprisingly frank talk from the bowl director. She called out TCU as the better team and will still go with BYU for the stated reasons. It was interesting to be reminded about the impact that the hotel sponsors can have on the selection process. Don't you think the Armed Forces Bowl and Texas Bowl would prefer to not have TCU/SMU and Houston/Rice, respectively, except for the fact that the local schools will buy a lot of tickets.
Just think about this weekend. Wouldn't we be a bit more excited if we knew that USM traveled really well? But they don't, and that combined with the students being out of town will lead to a sparse crowd.
it looks like it will be TCU- Boise in San Diego. Which is great, the bowl game is too early but at least we get a shot at an undefeated top 10 team. not the perfect scenario, but not totally horrible either.
An article littered with inaccuracies.
I find it interesting how we only had 500 people there when we sold out our allotment of 2,000. I was there...at least 1,500. Hummmmm. Additionally, we sold out our allotments to every away game this year. Furthermore, we brought nearly 7,000 to OU. Also, at the Houston Bowl, we brought nearly 37,000. I think the Las Vegas Bowl - which we are going to - should do some more research before making such outlandish statements. In fact, if you were to call every one of our past bowls in the past ten years, you'd hear nothing but wonderful reports. Go Frogs! Pony Up!
I was at the last TCU-Boise bowl game... definitely entertaining.
Theoretically was never possible...Air Force accepted the bid. Go Frogs! Pony Up!
