Beating down SMU and NTSU for the performance of the teams this year under their "offensive genius" coaches. I realize the Observer isn't exactly a pillar of sports journalism, but there are some interesting quotes from JJ inside, including how he expected 4-5 wins this season and expects a "big" step forward next year....we'll see, I guess.

Jones says we will compete for the CUSA title and a bowl game by his 3rd year? With CUSA having enough bowl alliances for any 6-6 team to qualify, he may be right on the bowl bid...but let's see how much improvement we see next year.

I hope he's right that a high scoring team is going to sell more tickets. Recruits will get more interested as our students, alumni and Dallas area sports fans get more interested.
