From what I know, it will take a while for the decision on the waiver to be made. However, many people appear to remain positive of McNeal's prospects; it helps that his transfer is outside of the ACC.

Even if his waiver isn't approved for the 2009 season, I'd have to think the defense will benefit from facing the fastest scout team player in years on a daily basis.
