Looking ahead to our second game and CUSA opener, I noticed that the Blazers DC is former SMU and Tulane coach Eric Schumann. Their OC is former Houston head coach Kim Helton. Schumann was a great coach against the run, and knew how to defend the option very well. Should be a good matchup in Birmingham Alabama.

UAB could be the surprise team in CUSA this year, like Rice was last year.

We could be the surprise team as well.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

We don't run the option.

I'm more worried about stopping Blazer QB Joe Webb than I am about them stopping us.

Last year I would have been worried about stopping Dragnet's Jack Webb. Hopefully we will improve this year.
