It's a very recognizable song, even with this generation with all the pop culture appearances. There's not much else on that board (so far) that is worth a can of spit.

But it doesn't work.

It doesn't work for the reason that "Sweet Caroline" in Boston does. "Sweet Caroline" is cheezy. "Sweet Caroline" is a very simple song lyrically. "Sweet Caroline" is very easy to sing.

"don't stop believing" has none of that, besides being cheezy. Neil Diamond had a very limited vocal range; Journey's Steve Perry had one of the widest vocal ranges in the history of pop music. "don't stop believing" lyrics aren't exactly a Bob Dylan song, but they are not simple.

The accompanying video was poorly edited and lacked energy.

Overall, the whole thing came across as forced.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Wrong Dooby, it's greatness. The only time all game I look at that screen.

Maybe it's because our standards are so low. It gets my attention because the rest of the time, we see forced blonde chick on the sideline promoting non-revenue sports with her microphone working sometimes, 3-hour old (if we're lucky) scoreboard updates from around the nation, the wings advertiser with their insipid moniker, the noise meter which is more likely hooked up to the press box toilets, than to an actual instrument measuring fan decibels, or replays where the cameraman might actually follow the ball. I almost long for the old Arlington Stadium clapping hands.

My 10 year old son met Bo and a few other players (Mitch Enright and Emmanuel Sanders) after practice a couple of weeks ago. My son loves Journey and that particular song, but does think the video board presentation is a little cheesy. In a great case of thinking of something catchy to say too late, while walking back to our car he said "aw man, I should have said 'don't stop bo-levin' instead of 'thanks Bo, have a good year'" - Classic.

On a related note, all 3 players took the time to chat with both of my sons (age 6 and 10) and me for a few minutes and autographed their Pony Up posters for them; very nice guys, all of them. Emmanuel said the offense's mantra this year has been "hang 50" and that his personal goal is double digit TDs after scoring 9 last year. Sounds good to me.

I am also very interested to know if some of the game presentation suggestions will be taken to heart this year. The 'Pony Up' debacle should have taught the presentation people much about what not to do, let's just hope they have come up with some keepers this time around.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, hope they don't do the Journey bit again.

Journey Video was perhaps the best part of the entire season. Hope they don't can it!
