5 INTs

Postby SmooBoy » Sun Sep 06, 2009 1:11 am

Most since 1951 against Arkansas (8). Let's keep some positivity going for the D. Not the best effort we will hopefully see, but the picks helped win the game.

Absolutely. The D made some plays tonight, and after last year, that's a legitimate improvement.

Now let's keep improving next week, guys.

The fast tempo play of SFA had to be difficult for the "D" as they had little time to get set and Moses looked as if he was the "gunslinger"!

Of course I watched this on my computer on channelsurfing, as all-access was a bust again, so what I saw was pretty grainy, choppy, and distorted.

The "D" did what they needed to do with a large helping of Divine intervention, so I'll give them a Pass this week.

i thought the d looked amazing. if our offense didn't have so many 3 and outs they wouldn't have been so worn down and played even a little better...

I wouldnt say the defense looked amazing. They DID look better than they did last year. I felt like we did a nice job when they did run. Kennemer had a very very nice game. I was dissapointed we didnt get more pressure on the QB but he was getting the ball out quick. The secondary saved the day with all the turnovers - nice job for the most part back there.

Just consider we have 2 great young prospects at DE-but quite frankly they haven't done it yet. Frazier hadn't played a game in almost 2 years and Thompson is a promising work in progress but he didn't have a sack last year. Before we nominate them for immortality there will be a learning curve. The best news is that they have 3 years to develop. I believe they will both be great but you need some patience while they develop.

Rock Dennis is the man.
We're going to see more INT's from that young man.
Great game Rock.

Bend but don't break..they caught all the passes that were sent their way and took two right out of the WR's hands..that's aggresive play and good coaching

Bottom line next week we find out what kind of team we have. No more opening day excuses one way or the other. I think it was Stallion that said UAB will be the true test. I am willing to give them a mulligan on how they played this week but not next week.

Wasn't that the idea, that we would have a more gambling defense that would go for picks and fumbles? Of course that's synonym for "we can't stop anyone, so we're going to focus on trying for turnovers".
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

thank goodness some of those deep balls were thrown short. SFA had our guys beat twice for scores that ended up as INTs. Good that we made those plays, but scary to think what might have been.
