Jones: must win one of next three?

I was there when Coach Jones made the "one of the next three" comment, and it didn't strike me at all that that's what he was aiming for ... more that he was acknowledging that a 2-2 start is a record with which this team can still make a bowl. He sounded anything but inclined to accept that willingly, however.

Makes sense. Ya gotta win 6 for bowl eligibility and .500 to start the season is on track. Boy, am I a genius.

I, for one, would gladly accept 2-2 after these 1st 4 games. No CUSA program that goes 6-6 is necessarily deserving of a bowl game, but that's just how watered down the bowl system has gotten and we are fortunate to be part of CUSA with it's generous bowl alliances.

I believe 6 wins will get you to the Hawaii bowl. I'm sure CUSA will sent SMU to the game if it qualifies. Returning to Hawaii (In a bowl game) seems to be a JJ goal this season. I hoping Hawaii does it part also and qualifies for that game also. Here's to a Hawaii Vs Smu game in the Hawaii bowl.
