Navy - T.O.P

Postby Duke Blue Blood » Sun Oct 11, 2009 9:29 pm

We better SCORE when are on the field as these guys like the ball in their hands. Check out the Time of Posession.

Navy - 40:36 Rice - 19:24

Navy - 41:11 LaTech - 18:49

Navy- 29:45 Pitt - 30:15

Navy- 33:50 AirForce - 26:10 (Air Force is one of the best running teams)

Navy - 29:23 OSU - 30:37

Navy- 33:18 WKU - 26:42

Their two losses came to one great team (OSU)and one good team (Pitt). In both cases, they had the ball just slightly longer than NAVY.

They have the same game plan that SMU does: keep the ball...if the other team's offense doesn't have it, then they can't score.

We'll see if Mason is better at defending the option than his predecessors.

Anybody got information on Navy's Defense? Their pounding of Rice doesn't tell us anything except that Rice is not as good as last year....

Kind of ironic that Pitt did so well against Navy with Bennett handling their defense. We were REALLY bad vs navy when he was head coach.

Sink the Navy

Postby Sam I Am » Mon Oct 12, 2009 11:26 am

Imagine the Navy using a ground attack. Seems like we would be playing West Point with these tactics. So how do you sink the Navy if they don't stay at sea?

Navy played in a bowl vs New Mexico a couple of years ago and had one drive that was OVER 15 minutes long...the Lobos didnt have the ball the entire quarter.

I think that some Villiage People ought to be played every time Navy gets a first down...

And we should have a spectacular fireworks show out of the South End Zone to welcome the Naval Academy and the former prez.

I have no doubt that Navy will control time of possession this week. We will need to have more possessions than they do to win this game...or get more points from our special teams (to make Coach Ganz proud)
