Going into the season, one would have figured that Navy had a more likely chance of beating SMU than Rice during its back-to-back road trips to Texas.
Navy Sports Chat, Football: Oct 13
Naval Academy athletics beat writer Bill Wagner and host Dave Broughton, both of The Capital sports department, take a look at the Rice game on Saturday, October 10 in this October 13 edition. They also discuss this Saturdays game against SMU.

Rice won 10 games, including a bowl, in 2008 while SMU struggled to a 1-11 record under first-year head coach June Jones.
However, Rice was devastated by graduation and injuries - losing 27 lettermen, including 14 starters. Meanwhile, SMU kept virtually its entire team intact - returning 51 lettermen and 16 starters.
Last weekend, Navy dominated winless Rice (0-6) 63-14. The Midshipmen will no doubt have a tougher time this Saturday against a vastly improved Southern Methodist squad that owns a 3-2 record after upsetting East Carolina last Saturday.
