Like Colt McCoy who may lead UT to a National Championship, like Case Keenum who is one of the best QBs in the country. Like all Tulsa and Texas Tech QBs who have won championships or excelled. But between Padron and Braden Smith its a no brainer because Smith is incapable of making the throws in this offense.

Agreed but I've also felt that it makes more sense to redshirt Padron next year when we have added depth at QB because of McDermott

Amen. Very few true freshmen can come in and succesfully lead a D1A team. Especially when said team has marginal talent surrounding the QB.

Too many mistakes early. Just like the SMU of the last 20+ years. We are not good enough to overcome mistakes and we are not good enough to play flawless football. And now we have to get a new QB ready for another big road game.

and I think Padron has a very high upside as I've pointed out especially on Rivals but here to. That's why I hoped he could redshirt so his potential could be polished. I just didn't want to waste his freshman year that I don't think will amount to as much as a redshirt Senior Year when he could really be great. McDerrmont doesn't do a thing for me. We'll see. As I said though Padron was my choice in case of serious injury. I'm excited about his potential. I believe most even mild shoulder separations are 3 week deals.

Unless we discover a very effective running game, I don't see our O being very affective the rest of the season. In '80, when Lance stepped in, he was behind a senior line with 3 5 year seniors. He handed the ball to tow of the best backs in the nation. He wasn't ask to run a complicated offense, just not make mistakes in a running offense as a freshman. Padron nor Smith have that luxury.

It's tough, but it can be done. Kevin Kolb started game 1 at UH as a true freshman. In the R&S though it is MUCH tougher because of the need to not only make reads, but to make the same reads as the WR.

Are you glad Keenum was redshirted and will return next year? Yeah I thought so

Just trying to be encouraging. It sucks when any player gets hurt, especially an important player like the QB.

Boy, in the postgame, it sure sounded like Jones was counting on BLM being back.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Agree 100% about padron.
