Top 10 reasons to be happy about beating Rice

Postby Donnell88 » Sun Nov 08, 2009 3:44 pm

Top 10 reasons why we should be happy about beating Rice:
(1) We found a way to win - three blocked kicks - one returned for a TD. Imagine how Tulsa feels after losing to Houston last night.
(2) Shawnbray McNeal is the best SMU running back in recent memory.
(3) We won with a freshman quarterback, who looked a lot better than the Arizona St. qb who was thrown in against USC. (I know it was USC but I still wouldn't trade Kyle Padron even up).
(4) Rice isn't that bad - they were still in their game (41-24 loss) to Oklahoma St. until the fourth quarter.
(5) SMU played their best games last year in losses to Houston (44-38) and Tulsa (37-31).
(6) When was the last time we were 5 up and 4 down.
(7) Our offensive line was really banged up - forcing us to start all underclassmen.
(8) When was the last time we were overwhelming favorites to beat a D-1 team?
(9) The speed of our receivers continues to scare our opponents.
(10) Rice beat us 56-27 last year, on national TV no less, on their way to a 10-3 season, including a 38-14 win over W. Michigan in the Texas Bowl.
