Ill start it off with a few places to eat, if you want me to suggest anything else let me know... EatsHawaiian Food: If you attend a luau while youre here dont expect the food to be authentic or broke da mouth good... instead go for the luau experience so you can say you've been to one, then go to a restaurant that specializes in Hawaiian food if you want to try it... Ono's Hawaiian Food 726 Kapahulu Ave Honolulu, HI 96816 (808) 737-2275 If you want to taste some real Hawaiian food gotta try here, its good and its a few minutes away from waikiki... Pretty big selection, and the must tries are: Laulau, kalua pig, lomilomi salmon, haupia... the combination plate has all of the above listed grinds... Sushi: youre on an island and this is almost as fresh as you'll get, and if you're lucky the meat still wiggles... Just kidding, but seriously sushi in hawaii is the best unless youre in Japan of course... Tokkuri-Tei 611 Kapahulu Ave Ste 102 Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 739-2800 Sushi here is fresh, and they have a very large menu with lots of sushi and lots of sake(japanese rice wine).. High quality sake rarely leaves you with a hangover and its goes great with japanese food... this is one of my favorite places to just eat food, kick back, drink some sake... must try toro, uni, and EVERY other sushi they have =) Fine Dining : ^There are so amny just great fine dining restaurants in Hawaii, but one of my favorites is Nobu hes a genius when it comes to food... Nobu 2233 Helumoa Rd. Honolulu, Oahu, HI 96815 (808)237-6999 His restaurant is a little pricey, actually quite pricey as everything is basically ala carte. also remember you're paying to eat food from Nobus, not for the food itself, just think of it as the Nobu experience... so far i havnet had anything that i didnt like, so feel free to pick anything...

I went to some Korean-owned sushi place and it was the best I ever had. Great prices too. Wish I could remember the name of the joint.

Cultural differences always fascinate me. In Arkansas we call sushi, bait.

hmm let me take a stab in teh dark, if it was in hawaii was it called, Yanagi Sushi?? well the best sushi i ever had was from this small hole in the wall called mitches, its a family owned and run business selling sushi that they bring in. they get the freshest fish available since theyre the main suppliers of sushi grade fish... its near the airport so if youre interested in trying this place out go for it.. 524 Ohohia St Honolulu, HI 96819 (808) 837-7774 http://www.mitchsushi.com

http://www.noburestaurants.com/dallas/index.htmlWhy don't you just tell everyone to go to Roy's in addison? Maybe we can have a watch party at one of these places so we can feel like we are getting the whole bowl experience....

lol didnt know there was a nobus in dallas, well mark that off the list, and i dont really care for roys... as there are better restaurants imo... and as for the reason i listed nobu its because i like nobu, and there arent very many local fine dining restaurants because local and fine dining dont really go together... oh and you'll never get teh hawaii experience without actually having people from hawaii there..hawaii locals that is....

Now there's an idea! I can watch the game from the Cheeseburger in Paradise down the street from me. Drink some Mai Tai's and pretend I am in Hawaii. Of course I will have to drink a lot to not be confused by the snow when I walk outside after the game! I wonder if they are open on Christmas Eve?

Don't forget to check out the windward side of the island...it's absolutely gorgeous and much less touristy...Kailua comes to mind. Waiminalo State beach is also very lovely, less crowded and much more pretty than waikiki beaches. Take a drive over the LikeLike Hwy or the Pali Hwy also...breathtaking views as you come over the peak going towards the windward side. Just my two cents....enjoy Hawaii Mustangs Mrs. H
