Does Hawaii's extra game count against them for bowl purposes? Is a 6-7 Hawaii bowl eligable? No, right?

I think you're right. The way I understand it is that Hawaii has to beat Wisconsin to become bowl eligible. If they do beat Wisconsin, I think we would face them in the Hawaii bowl.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Wisconsin had the week off and has three losses on the year. It can be hard to play in Hawaii, but beating Wisconsin is going to be a tall task.

Who do we want to face? I think we would match up against Hawaii better than we would Nevada.
But the whole stadium will obviously be for UH, whereas most would prolly root for SMU against Nevada.
I assume the PR is going to better if we face UH?

Thoughts and or knowledge?

I will say this, if Hawaii doesn't get bowl eligible, the first year they do, assuming we are eligible, we will be right back there. For that reason alone, I want Hawaii to win so we don't have to go back.

I would like to see Hawaii beat Wisconsin just b/c of the good PR and i think we would match up against them better than Nevada or Notre Dame. Although it would be sweet to see us take on the golden domes

Jones has talked about scheduling Hawaii and you do get an "extra" game by making the trip to Hawaii. I would look to 2012 when it appears we already have 7 home games scheduled...unless the list posted on this site is not accurate. Only problem with trying to schedule a 13th game and trip to Hawaii that year is that I assume we will be making plans to play in the CUSA Championship game that year.

It would be a great bowl story to see June and the Mustangs against Hawaii. It's going to be so awesome to see SMU in a nationally televised bowl this year, regardless. But, how neat would it be to play in a full stadium, against June's old team, on Christmas Eve? I mean, SMU-Hawaii would be a MUCH more intriguing game than us against Nevada, and I think it's more winnable from our standpoint.
