wow, a lot of interesting ideas in this thread, worth the long read. I really wish this expansion talk would heat up in about two years when we have a little more credibility to make a push for a big conference. I feel like if we miss this expansion, our dream of playing for major bowls again might fizzle out.

also, "Even if BYU, Colorado State, and Utah leave the MWC, a conference with both TCU and Boise State will be a real contender. Add in Houston and Fresno, and the conference may come out okay in the end."

I think i agree, add in a resurging SMU program, and you've definitely got some good rivalries and story lines in this conference, and could seemingly earn an auto bid to (hopefully) the college football playoffs on a yearly basis.

The only major conference that might have any tiny amount of interest in TCU is the Big East.
