Think about it, Al Franken is a freaking US Senator. Hillary Clinton was a US Senator - if she can get elected anyone can. Actually, I guy with Craig's people skills will probably do well in a campaign. George Allen was not the brightest bulb on the planet (as shown by his maccacca moment), but he got elected because he was the best retail politician I have ever seen. He could go to a crowd and make everything think he was their best friend as he walked through and shook hands. I'm sure Craig will get lots of mud from the death penalty days thrown at him. It will be interesting to see how he parries that line. Bill Clinton got by with the "I never inhaled" comment. W said, he had some youthful indiscretions. As we saw in Virginia this past fall, the eventual winner was pilloried by his opponent for his college thesis about how women should stay home and have babies. He won by almost 20% of the vote. After awhile that message just didn't stick and the other guy was perceived as mean spirited. I could see him responding, "yeah I committed some youthful indiscretions at SMU, just as I am sure my opponent might have smoked pot while he/she was in college. We learned from those mistakes and grew from them." Or if the person is an Aggie, "well at least I didn't diddle with sheep."

I believe he is over 30, a citizen and a resident of the state for which he intends to serve, or will be at the time of the election. Accordingly, he is qualified.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yes, but he was one touchdown short in the 1980 Holiday Bowl. Voters don't forget.

Craig James is far from articulate, IMHO.

Well stated...Craig definitely has some form of ‘name recognition’....ask W how that worked out for him.

Shouldn't he become a community organizer and then run for state senate before running for US Senate?

No, Community Organizer is sooo last year. Also in the recent Budget Reconciliation Act passed by Congress and signed by the President it contains a provision forbidding giving of any federal funds to ACORN which of course hires all the Community Organizers.

Except a judge overturned that legislation - sad when judges try and legislate. He also has as much experience as a pro wrestler. Besides, professional politicians aren't looking so good these days.

Basic qualifications for most politicians are to be totally corrupt and never to have held a real job in the real world.
