Marshall coach Doc Holliday picking off WVU recruitsI thought Marshall might be down since they have a coaching change but there must be some bad blood between Doc Holliday and West Virginia because he is taking dead aim at some of their commitments. And he is succeeding. He has already picked off 2 from West Virginia. Since Marshall will be running the spread now we not see a drop off at all. Heck, they might be better.

Stallion made a funny
Re: Marshall coach Doc Holliday picking off WVU recruitsWest Virginia message board is almost in meltdown phase. I don't think the WVU coached like it when he was talking to some assistants about coming to Marshall. I think some came with him. Needless to say there is tension in the aie at this time between the 2 schools.

Re: Marshall coach Doc Holliday picking off WVU recruitsIt ain't just Marshall going after WVU's recruits - the Memphis Commercial Appeal says that Mississippi State is taking aim at a highly-recruited QB out of Memphis this week. Are there problems at WVU?
Re: Marshall coach Doc Holliday picking off WVU recruitsabout 3 of those Marshall commits yesterday have stronger portfolios than Focker (ie strong to very strong)

Re: Marshall coach Doc Holliday picking off WVU recruitsDoc Holliday was one of the top recruiters on the WVU staff when he was there and it only makes sense that some of the players he recruited to Morgantown are following him to Huntington instead. WVU fans, uneducated as they are, probably think that he's stealing kids who wanted to come to WVU, when they in fact wanted to come play for Holliday, no matter where Holliday was. It's going to make for an interesting backdrop for the Hillbilly Bowl next year when the teams face off against each other.
Re: Marshall coach Doc Holliday picking off WVU recruits
It is usually an unwritten rule that when an assistant coach leaves a program that he does not go after committed players (from that year) from the program he left. Last edited by SMU 86 on Mon Jan 18, 2010 11:37 pm, edited 1 time in total.
