June Jones speaks at McMurry’s Air Raid coaches clinic

Postby koolherc » Tue Jan 26, 2010 8:54 pm

Not sure if this article has been posted (apologies if so) but it's an excellent read. An excerpt:

Jones said recruiting defensive players with physical ability is tougher than finding offensive standouts but overall, “recruiting has been good.”

“We’ll get them,” he said of landing better players on defense.

Cooper defensive lineman Brandon Henderson and former Wylie standout Cameron Rogers, a linebacker that was put on scholarship this past season, are among those he has already brought in.

I guess it is hard to find athletic, physical defensive players, he has 1 D-Lineman committed for 2010 and 7 receivers.

June Jones will use most of his scholarships for the offense, all he wants is one point more than the other team and get the W. He'll build the defense as his offense becomes proficient and stocked with depth. His mantra, QB, OL, DE and CB. Fill those needs first, WR will recruit the program and come. This recruiting class is his third, but only the second where he and his staff have had the opportunity to scout the players and make a long term evaluation before offering a scholarship.
