I have seen most of the greats that played for SMU, Levias was real good but not the greatest of all the great players SMU has had but to take the stuff he did and still play the game he did makes him the greatest player.

Great documentary. I never knew about the sniper threat at the TCU game.
A few things: I saw some footage of us playing with solid red helmets (no stripes or Mustang logo). Anyone know what year those were worn? Obviously it had to have been sometime between 66 and 68. Also, Peruna looked good galloping across the field after LeVias' touchdowns.

What an amazing story. I saw some of those games as they were being played at the Cotton Bowl but had no idea of what he had to go through. Imaging how different SMU's history would have been if Hayden Fry had not been fired in 1972.

The red shell with not logo was only worn in 1967. http://swchelmets.tripod.com/smu.html

I'm going to guess if it was between '66 and '68 then most likely you're looking at '67. I know what you meant, just caught me as funny. That is a great documentary and a must see. Would like to see it again.
