At one point, the defense split into halves and was running 7-on-7 with defensive players standing in as mock offensive players.

"Quarterback" Chris Banjo locked in on a receiver on the right side, and threw the ball about 20 yards downfield ... only to have it intercepted by a safety who snuck across from the other side of the field: Braden Smith.

Smith laughed when asked about how it felt to be on the good side of an interception for the first time in years, adding that he didn't talk any trash ... yet.

"Ah, I know he can't throw," Smith said of Banjo. "I'll talk to him when we see it on film, though."
