we will be hurting on the "all important" left side with graduation of Slaten & Mac, but if last year's class contributes, we should be deeper than we have been in years. I'm assuming some of this year's RS Frosh will step up and earn starting roles or at least contribute in a 2-deep rotation.

What's the deal with Sterling Harris? Is he even close to seeing any action? I know he was all whatever coming out of high school but maybe there was a reason we did get him and not the likes of A&M or Notre Dame.

Not so fast my friend! The reason we got Sterling was because he CHOSE to attend SMU. He had written offers from the Irish and Aggies, and chose to come to SMU. And regardless of what we think of him now, we were all excited at the time. Every college scout in the country wanted the kid. But from what I've seen at practice, he's not any closer to getting serious playing time than he was the day he set foot on campus. His role will be on special teams. He can block for kicks, and wave those big hands at the top of those long arms against kicks. Other than that, he's going to get his degree. Don't see much else. Hope he proves me wrong, but he hasn't given any indication yet that he will.

I predict Tommy Miller starts as a redshirt freshman next year, and I hear the coaches love Brad Keischnick. Should get some playing time once he's healthy again. But Tommy Miller looks like one hell of a prospect for the line. Would be nice to see what he can do over four years!

I wouldnt know about that smoking bit becuase I dont watch practices. Does anyone know if their is any truth to him being out of shape and slow? From what I hear from people who do go to practices, he is doing good.

There are reports that Tommy Miller is the strongest freshman to come through SMU since the 1980s, if not the strongest ever. The man has tree trunks for thighs, and should be an abusive blocker when he polishes his footwork and gets on the field. Looking forward to seeing him play.

Hey, EyesOnYou, where do you get your info on Tommy Miller? You're wrong about this kid...and I am a relative.

I'm with Odessa - everything I hear is that TommyMiller is brutally strong and works extremely hard. Does he have the mature power of a Joey Slaten? Probably not - he's only 18. But from what I've seen, he has the potential to be a tremendous blocker. I'm think ShanD and Keylon Kincade will be Tommy's best friends.
