DMN On Ineligible Players

Postby Stallion » Tue May 18, 2010 2:53 pm

of course they are always days behind so probably not the final word on others. Worth noting that transfers or dropping out are not mentioned so maybe they get second shot.

Hope the JUCO corner from California can come in and play. Losing Gamble and McConico sucks.
Back off Warchild seriously.

So this is why someone said Richard Crawford and Chris Parks need to be ready to play right away.

Are these guys going to be in school trying to regain their eligibility? Or are they leaving school entirely?

Wherever — good luck getting those grades straightened out, guys.

Haven't been disclosed yet for several reasons, including that they may ultimately retain eligibility.

I hate to show my senility but was it McConico or Mojica that burned the red shirt at the very end of the year due to Moore's injury?

I went back and checked the participation chart and you are correct. It was McConico. At least he got to play. Maybe he will find a way to work his way back.

If he burned his redshirt last season, he can always take an "academic redshirt" this season. JJ had that happen in Hawaii--he even had starting players (who hadn't used their redshirt year) miss a season due to academics and then start after they returned the following year when their academics were on order.

Of course, if the academics are not taken care of during the year away then the player will not return. That is sadly not an uncommon thing in D-1A football.
