Highland Park HS - just around the corner. Big, nice, red brick, SMU-looking. Just tell recruits we built our facility at our satellite campus.

Highland Park HS said no to a joint SMU-HPHS indoor practice facility if I recall correctly.

How pathetic is that? The HS next door has a better practice facility than we do right now. "Top 25" my [deleted]

If SMU decided to build one, where would we put it? SMU has already allocated much its land to the Bush library and its gardens, new tennis courts, NCAA regulation lacrosse fields (in hopes that we will one day fully utilize them), intramural fields, sophomore housing, and apparently an SMU version of mockingbird station/west village. Personally, I say forget sophomore student housing, put the facility there.

pretty sure its going accross the street from the fraternity houses behind the parking garage. other options would be behind the strip center where the bookstore is.

the area behind the strip center is being demolished for sophomore student housing, so that's a no go. Ms. Baird's is going to be demolished to make room for SMU's west village shopping and condo complex, so that doesn't work either. The intramural fields across from the frat houses would work, considering its across from the crum center. However, SMU wants to make that area SMU's new entrance with the bush library and all. That building would have to be extremely asthetically pleasing for Turner to ok that location. Maybe some more fountains would get him to give the go ahead.
