I makes sense, keeps regional rivalries, allows for wide open schedules, cuts considerable travel costs for the "minor" sports, creates national interest, makes $$$$$ with TV revenues, facilitates a national championship, and makes all play off games meaningful. Problem is with the current bowl system and those $$$. Easy solution is to have bowls bid on play off games and that should add many $$$$$ to any formula.
