Mike Huegenin's thoughts on the SMU v Tech game

Postby GeorgiaMustang » Thu Sep 02, 2010 12:02 pm

I called in to Rivals radio this morning on Serius while Chris Childers was the host. He had Rivals football guru, Mike Hueginin on as a guest. I asked Mike what his thoughts were on us pulling off the win in Lubbock. He said he felt we'd make it close but that he thought we just weren't at the level of beating them at Jones ATT stadium just yet. He does think we're in decent shape program wise as a whole.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Probably a save prediction. Certainly a wise 'political' prediction. Nobody offended and nothing that can't be spun later. Is he running for office this fall?

But I would rather have an earth shattering result. SMU wins!

I think we are capable of pulling off an upset given all of the variables at work here. But when I saw JJ on his summer tour, he indicated that the team is nervous. I hope nerves don't translate into errors. And history is against us. Tech hasnt lost a season home opener in 18 years, and that was against a highly rated OU.

But these kids ARE CAPABLE OF GREAT THINGS. GO PONIES!

I agree about all the variables. Talking to my oldest son today and he asked how I thought we were going to do. He has made a lot of "loser buys lunch" bets with Tech friends of his and wanted some reassurance that we were going to win. I told him I was clueless. I don't know how good we are going to be and the Tubberville factor is impossible to figure out. Hopefully it is another Hawaii' Bowl type situation. No one gave us a chance and we kicked butt.
When will I start feeling stimulated??
