Re: Hawai'i Ponders its Optionsit's really their only choice since boise, fresno and nevada bolted.
i feel kinda bad for the wac. not so long ago it was composed of 16 members but the gang of 5 (includes byu natch) decided to break apart. they are hanging by a thread.
Re: Hawai'i Ponders its OptionsYep. Hawaii should go indy as well as Air Force.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Hawai'i Ponders its OptionsIndependence in FB makes sense for ND, BYU, Hawai'i and service academies. The challenge is to find a home for all other sports, especially non-revenue.
The state schools live in a world of large stadium, lots of alumni and the BCS cartel money machine. Their incentives are to stay. For others independence (with the above exceptions) is not practical. I bet TCU would do it for FB, but the private school math works against them, as us. Aligning with the three service academies, TCU, BYU, Hawai'i, and a few others (ND would be the biggest prize) has appeal, but unfortunately it is not practical. So, TCU and SMU should find common purpose and create a solution that works long term. Neither of one us will ever be invited (see notes above) to the cartel. Pony Up
