I wonder if the new health care bill calls for televised diagnosis and chat room recommendations for treatment in order to save money with costly doctor visits.

Will be interesting to see how forthcoming UH is with injury news.
They were pretty tight lipped this week on Keenum.
But SMU now has a much better chance of getting to the CUSA championship game now. No doubt.

Also, word to the wise -- avoid the dogs at the Rose Bowl. I had two and then they had me... It was less than an hour before they came right back up. And just like Case's Heisman Campaign they went right down a Rose Bowl toilet. HBPD jinxed it before I took a bite -- he made a crass coment about the contents of the dogs and immediately I started to feel ill - it was just a matter of time at that point.

Thaddeus, how many Jameson's had you imbibed before eating those dogs?

I like where your head is at... but the answer is zero.

Now I had some Maker's during the SMU game, but we didn't go tailgate and unbelievably the don't sell beer at UCLA games. They did at the Rose Bowl in '09 and then at the Nat. Championship game at the beginning of this year!

...

BTW - HBPD and I sat with one UCLA fan to our right who couldn't figure out who we were rooting for... "We're not, we're just hoping for a good game." That just didn't compute. Finally, I said I'd like to see UCLA win just because we are in their home stadium and I have reasons in the past to not like Houston. But with them as conference mates I wouldn't mind them winning because it would mean that it might set up for their first loss. He acted like he got it then, but really he was just more confused.

And then flanking us on the other side was actor Michael Vartan, who got some fame through the show Alias... I really couldn't understand how many attractive UCLA girls bugged him to get a picture with him... I mean it did only happened thrice. I'm like - gee whiz you go to school in LA, I hope you are actually huge fans of Alias or something else he did (or freshman).... otherwise your gonna' graduate with 600 pictures of you with good looking dudes who happened to be famous for a little while.

... and you will never look at those pictures again. Actually, now that I think about it they were probably on Facebook 30 seconds after they were taken. "Michael Vartan, he's soooo dreamy." Hah!

My brother-in-law a doctor in Orlando sent this message to me...

From a medical point of view...

I saw them examine his knee on the field. They did what was called a "drawer test". This is to check the stability of the ligaments of the knee, the ACL and PCL. This test was positive for a possible torn knee ligament, most probably the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament). The trainer knew that. He shook his head yes with a look of dismay on his face when he did the test. I pointed that out to Jan.

The ligament could just be stretched (sprained). If only sprained, he will sit out 2-3 games and will be back.
If it is torn, he is out for the rest of the season.

I would imagine they will ice him up, get him back to Houston, do an MRI to determine the extent of the injury, and hope that one of your Houston sports doctors can get him back on his
feet.

I guess they were right.

No mountain is unclimbable! For SMU or Case Keenum. He is one of the top competitors I have ever seen in high school and college. One tough, athletic guy. I hope he recovers fully and gets a medical redshirt to come back to play. College football needs guys like him.
