on that botched punt, did he kick the ball with his foot or his ankle, and does that matter?

The ball was bouncing upfield and he ran to it and kicked it hard out of bounds. Clear penalty.

That one....yes, it was obvious that he kicked it, but it looked like he did so with his ankle/shin and not his foot. If a player is running down the field towards the ball and it ricochets off his ankle/shin, I don't think they would be penalized.

I guess my question is, can you be penalized for kicking a ball if you don't use your feet. I suspect the answer is yes, but I don't know for sure.

Way to kick to Kerley. How many years does he have to burn us before we squib to someone else? Did you even watch film?

I read in the DMN we were going to kick way away from him into a corner. We did once, and
covered it well.

We, or maybe the kicker. got swelled heads after the interception return and TD punch in to start
second half off. Kerley promptly ran the kick off back to our 13 to negate any momentum we
gained to scare the froggies that we were for real

Looked to me like he tried to kick the thing. Thought the penalty was justified, even before the ref tossed the flag.
