it is not the job of the public schools to fix bad parenting - they have no business telling my kids or anyone else's what they should be doing regarding their sexual conduct. That is for the parents to handle.

This same type of case happened in Georgia a few years with a stand-out kid named Marcus Dixon. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison after having sexual relations with his 15 year old girlfriend. I believe he was 18 at the time. This sparked a huge public outcry and his sentence was eventually overturned. Today, he plays for the Jets.

Has he been indicted or has only a complaint been filed? When I was a state prosecutor I used to let the grand jury hear testimony form all parties (if the defendant wanted to testify) and let the Grand Jury decide if the case warranted prosecution or was it merely an angry parent that was pushing the case. The grand jury can take the heat off the DA and the police. Even if he is indicted the case may have little jury appeal. If it is a parent pushing this prosecution they may later regret it when the defense gets through with the girl. On the other hand if it was by force it is a whole different story. I feel for both parties having to go through this ordeal.
