He was incredible in the second half and he just looked so much more comfortable. The Rice backs were there-or-thereabouts and the throws were perfect. LOVED it. We need more of this next week for Tulsa.

The only down side with the quick scoring drives was the amount of time the D had to stay on the field. They were visibly tired by the end.

Still so glad I made the trip to Houston.

Kyle did have a good second half. And I was pleased to see that. I was not impressed with Rice's ability to rush the passer, so I'm a little hesitant to say our O is clicking. But I do believe in positive mindsets, so I hope this kickstarts Kyle's season. We will not see D's like TCU's again this year, so I'm leaning on the side of KP keeping up this play. I sure hope so. Tonight was fun. Winning is fun. Let's keep it up.

We play in C-USA, how many of our upcoming opponents are known for rushing opposing QBs well? Padron should see a lot of clean pockets going forward, hell he had a lot before this game he just wasn't getting the ball out fast enough. We have a very good o-line.

Yes, we do play in C-USA. But Rice is one of the worst teams in the conference, so I'm expecting better competition going forward. I said nothing about our O-line. They did play well. And we are going to need them to keep that up. Our remaining schedule has better talent than Rice. Padron will have to hit the 10 yard outs and slants better than he has against those teams.

One of the biggest differences between the first and second halves was the play of Cole Beasley. He had repeated, HORRIBLE drops in the first half. In the second half, he was dynamite and ended up with good numbers. But Beasley probably would have gone over 200 yards without the early drops.

I will say one big difference between this game and previous ones was Padron's accuracy on the long ball. Especially some of the long shots to Al were through pretty good coverage. And KUDOS to Al Robinson, I wasn't expecting him to make several of those grabs, and he pretty much grabbed all of them as I recall.

Padron was 14 for his last 17 passes for 284 yards and 3 TDs in a little over 2 quarters of play

let's hope that carries over into next week. We need some big plays against Tulsa for sure. They will put 30 pts on us at least.

Welcome back? He never left.....only the fickle unknowlegeable fans left! Would you rather have the Big 12's top QB.... an over-hyped, senior turnover machine in Jerrod Johnson or a young Padron with a big upside?

I don't think Stallion or anyone else is being fickle. Just stating the obvious. His best game until now had been against Washington State where he passed for 280 yards and had a completion percentage of 55.9. Against Rice he had 370 yards passing and a completion percentage of 75. Being at that game personally, I saw a much more confident Kyle standing in the pocket than in the previous weeks. And as previously stated, great play by the OL.

You should consider watching the games next season.
If you really think that ois the dichotomy.
