OK, this can't go without a response. Consider:

-- The author, John Klein, is known around the state as the biggest homer in Oklahoma sports writing, and there are a lot of them (normally for OU and OSU). I don't know if he went to Tulsa, or is a close personal friend of Todd Graham's, but his writing always sounds that way.

-- Clearly he didn't see the scores of our games with Tech and TCU, much less the games themselves.

-- He seems to suggest that Tulsa-ex Paul Smith was a much better quarterback than GJ Kinne. Smith was accurate, but overall, Kinne is far better.

If anything, he should have pointed out the passes Roberson and Clay dropped — at least two were sure touchdowns — but that would require him taking an honest look at Tulsa High, which is something of which he is incapable.

Paul Smith is a former CUSA Player of the Year. I personally don't think there is much logical dispute that CUSA is very weak especially lacking any Top 25 or even Top 50 teams

Has anyone argued that CUSA is strong?

I don't think so, or at least I haven't read it.

But saying that SMU is certainly not good is off base.

"and the Mustangs certainly aren't good." I would be OK with certainly are not great, but ...

Also the inaccuracy regarding ECU's 2009 results are inexcusable for a "journalist".

The article states:
"C-USA, with its teams unable to get even one significant win this fall, heads down the stretch of the league season without a nationally prominent squad to hype."
I agree

If Keenum does not get hurt CUSA would have Houston in the Top 25.
